Spelling: The next spelling test
will be Friday, January 30th.
As a reminder, 3rd nine weeks spelling words and sentences will be graded.
Please practice writing sentences with your child. There are examples of
dictation sentences on the homework sheet.
Words
are: bird, perch, burn, fern, first, fur, girl, let’s, we’ve, you’re, other,
because

formation on spelling homework.
Reading: We will learn about /ir/ as
in first, /er/ as in her and /ur/ as in nurse. We will also learn about
contractions: ‘s as in that’s, ‘ve as in we’ve, and ‘re as in they’re. Our reading skill will be to learn how to
draw conclusions from a story.
Our grammar skill is to
learn about the verbs: am, is, are, was, were
High-Frequency
words: name, good, say, great, man, where, help, think, sentence, through
Math: Students will learn about
expanded notation. For example: 56 is 50+6=56. There are also many websites to help your
child review addition and subtraction. Here are a few: mathfactcafe.com,
coolmath4kids.com, and aplusmath.com
Social
Science:
We will doing 100th activities.
