Lesson Plans for November 3-7


Weekly Plans

Spelling: The next spelling test will be Friday, November 7th. Remember starting now (2nd nine weeks) the words will be graded but NOT the dictation sentences. Please practice using correct or best handwriting.

Words are: bone, home, hope, hose, stone, aren’t, she’ll, don’t, isn’t, I’m, one, had

 

Reading: Our story is The Big Circle. Students will learn about long /o/ as in bone and contractions as in can’t (can not) or I’m (I am).  In our story, we will learn about sequence. Our grammar skill is to learn about matching nouns to verbs.

 

High-Frequency words: my, than, first, water, been, call, who, oil, its, now

 

Math: We will continue to learn about missing addends (9+___=12, the missing added is 3) and related facts (3+7=10 or 10-7=3).

 

Social Science:  We will learn about air. We will learn how air moves items even when we don’t see it. We will be making parachutes and doing many experiments with air. If you have any resources you would like to send please do!

Plans for October 27-31


Weekly Plans

Spelling: The next spelling test will be, October 31st.  Remember starting now (2nd nine weeks) the words will be graded but NOT the dictation sentences.

Words are: like, ride, smile, time, white, bike, dime, hide, ice, kite, their, or

 

Reading: Our story is Who Works Here. Students will learn about long /i/ as in like and the digraphs /wh/ as in whale, /ch/ as in chat, and /tch/ as in pitch.  In our story we will learn about author’s purpose. Our grammar skill is to learn about proper nouns with special titles like Dr. Harris, Mrs. Polly.

High-Frequency words: two, number, write, see, no, could, more, go way, people

 

Math: We will learn about subtraction. We will also continue to discuss missing addends.

 

Social Science: We are doing various Halloween (pumpkins, spiders, etc.) activities.
