Spelling: The next spelling test
will be Thursday, February 12th.
As a reminder, 3rd nine weeks spelling words and sentences will be graded.
Please practice writing sentences with your child. There are examples of
dictation sentences on the homework sheet.

are: afraid, day,

Reading: We will learn about /ai/
as in train and /ay/ as in day. We will
also learn about possessives such as: This is Jan’s book. This week’s reading
skill is to draw conclusions from the story. Our grammar skill is to review
pronouns.
High-Frequency words: boy, follow, also, around, came, form,
want, three, show, small
Math: We will learn about
2-digit addition along with problem-solving.
Please review with your child how to count to 120 by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s.
There are also many websites to help your child review addition and subtraction.
Review 10 more and 10 less (such as, “What is 10 more than 24?”) Here are a
few: mathfactcafe.com, coolmath4kids.com or aplusmath.com We will also
introduce geometry.
