Spelling: The next spelling test
will be Friday, February 27th. As a
reminder, 3rd nine weeks spelling words and sentences will be graded. Please practice writing sentences
with your child. There are examples of dictation sentences on the
homework sheet.
Words
are: boat, road, snow, row, yellow, loaf, coat, soap, blow, pillow, write, will

Reading: We will learn about long o
/oa/ as in boat and /ow/ as in snow. We
will also learn about 3 letter blends as in scream. Our reading skill is
learning about author’s purpose for writing a story. Our grammar skill will be
to learn about conjunctions to combine sentences such as and, also, but, so,
and because.
High-Frequency words: Review all words in FISH notebook.
Math: We will learn about fractions.
Our focus will be how shapes are equally divided into halves and quarters.
Social Science: We are learning about famous Americans. Don’t forget about
your famous American project which is due on February 25th. Please have your
child dressed as their assigned famous American.
