Weekly Plans

Spelling: The next spelling test will be October 4th. The spelling words and dictation sentences are not graded the 1^st nine weeks but IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to establish this routine of studying and testing.

Reading: This week’s story is Animal Park. The genre is photo essay. A photo essay uses photos and words to explain about the real world. Students will also learn about the short /u/ as in cut and final blends as in must. Our comprehension reading skill is cause and effect. In language, we will learn about asking sentences (interrogative) and the structure of a sentence.

High Frequency Words: to, is

 

Math: We will be focusing on adding 3 numbers through using story problems, pictures, number line and counting on. We will also review making numbers.

 

Social Science: Students will learn about the apples. Johnny Appleseed’s birthday was September 26th so on Friday we will have an apple tasting party. Please send your assigned item by Tuesday, October 1st. If you have any resources on apples please send them.
