Weekly Plans for April 28-May 2nd

Weekly Plans

Spelling: Our next spelling test will be on Friday, May 2nd.

Words: refill, refund, reopen, repay, retell, undo, undress, unhappy, unkind, untie, kind, water

 

Reading: We will learn about long vowel sounds in single syllable words like: post, most, child, kind. We will also the prefixes –un and –re like reopen, undo, unhappy, and repay. Our grammar skill will be learning about prepositions and prepositional phases. For examples: into the kitchen, under the rock, above the tree

High-Frequency Words: review word from pervious weeks

 

Math: We will review money.  Please make sure that your child can count pennies by 1’s, nickels by 5’s, dimes by 10’s and quarters by 25’s. We will not count money over $1.00. We will also NOT mix up coins. We will also review double digit subtraction and addition.

 

Social Science: We will be learning about the rainforest. Please send any resources that are about the rainforest

Weekly Plans April 21-25

Weekly Plans
Spelling: Our next spelling test will be on Friday, April 25th.
Words: saw, draw, crawl, straw, jaw, law, paw, lawn, yawn, hawk, good, long
 
Reading: We will learn about the sound /aw/ like in saw and the /au/ as in launch. We will also learn about words with short e /ea/ as in feather. Our reading skill will be drawing conclusions. Our grammar skill will be learning about possessive phrases. For example: Cindy has a shoe. That is Cindy’s shoe.
High-Frequency Words: letter, mother, answer, found, study, still, learn, should, America, world
 
Math: We will learn about money.  We will also review double digit subtraction and addition.
 
Social Science: We will be learning about the rainforest. Please send any resources that are about the rainforest.
