Spelling: The next spelling test
will be Thursday, January 15th. As a reminder, 3rd nine weeks
spelling words and sentences will be
graded. Please practice writing sentences with your child. There are examples
of dictation sentences on the homework sheet.
Words
are: fix, fixes, wish, wishes, bus, buses, storm, fork, wore, more, do, if
* Please use correct
letter formation on spelling homework.
Reading: We will learn about the
ending –es and the plural –es like in classes. We will also learn about the
r-controlled /or/ like in thorn and /ore/ like in chore. Our grammar skill will be putting words in
ABC order.
High-Frequency words:
over, new, little, work, sound, take, only, know, place, year
Math: Students will learn about
place value as in 23 has 2 tens and 3 ones or that 55 has 5 tens and 5 ones.
Social
Science:
We will be discussing the season of winter.
