Lesson Plans for March 10-14

Spelling: The next spelling test will be March 14^th.

Remember 3^rd nine weeks dictation sentences will be graded. Practice!!!

Words are: broom, bloom, tooth, smooth, goose, spoonful, useful, wonderful, slowly, gladly, two, go

* Please use correct letter formation on spelling homework

 

Reading: We will learn about /oo/ in moon.  We will also learn about the suffixes –ly and –ful. We will learn that the suffix –ly means “in a ____way” and the suffix –ful means “full of.”  Our reading skill will be cause and effect.  Our grammar skill will be to learn about the articles: a, an, the.

High-Frequency words: great, learn, sentence, answer, want, went, were, where, most

 

Math:  Our focus will be measuring the length of various items. We will measure with non-standard units of measurement (paperclips, cubes, pennies, etc) and standard units of measurement (ruler). Please send in 1 item we could use in our measurement collection (such as popcorn or cereal box. baby doll shoe, etc.)

 

 

Social Science: We will be talking about St. Patrick’s Day.
