-        6 fish were swimming in the ocean and 1 more fish swam to the group.  How many fish are swimming in the ocean?

Do you have a pet?  Use t-chart and collect data.  Discuss observations
Activities:
-Play quick images with dot pics and dots on desk. Discuss patterns in images.
-Discuss different types of patterns (clap, snap(AB)etc), number patterns, shape patterns.  Find patterns in room, on clothes. Make a pattern using cubes.  Name your pattern with letters. Use paper tube and play what comes next.  Then let them play in partners.
-Put names on cubes or strips: color or make using a pattern and graph or sort.
-Practice number words with songs or song from youtube.
Math centers:  pattern tubes, make my number (on tens frame or image), pattern block patterns or fill ins, number words

Draw family for math homework. (give squares for number of people in family and directions.  The students draw the family members and put ages, then the next day at school, they can put in numerical order on paper for math or Soc. Science)

-        Review consonant sounds, intro short final, 2 leter /ck/
-        Discuss order of letters in alphabet (base for ABC order)
-        Phonics/Spelling:  Read words with a and ck (word family) , build words, read words built with sound cards or on desk write Spelling words as you call them out.
-        Read Book and discuss the characters, setting
-        Review HFW or Fry 100 words

Whole Group Reading: TSW connect concepts, identify position of sounds, read high frequency words, read short a, read words, write description, and review sentences.
Whole Group Lesson is on Power Point if needed
-        Review consonant sounds,  short final, 2 letter /ck/ Decide where you hear the sound (beg, middle, end)
-        Discuss order of letters in alphabet (base for ABC order) Decide what order the word would go (use 4 words)
-        Read Book and discuss the characters, setting.  Have students identify these.
-        Write a description of Sam (yellow, big/small, nice, friendly, etc) Could do this at writing time.
-        Review HFW or Fry 100 words
Small group:
-        Review Short /a/, /ck/ & HFW
-        Yellow – review with weekly story.
-        Green – review with weekly story.
   -      Blue – review with weekly story.
