Whole Group Reading:  TSW blend and segment phonemes, learn to decode, read and spell sounds of short /i/ and final /x/, build words, build background, develop concepts of character, key details of the text using illustrations and learn about sentences.
Whole Group Lesson is on Power Point if needed
-    Review consonant sounds, intro short /i/, final /x/
-    Listen for sounds in story
-    Phonics/Spelling:  Read words with /i/ and /x/ , build words
-    Read Big Book and discuss the characters, setting
-    Review HFW or Fry 100 words, Practice NWF
Small group:
-    Review Short/i/ and final /x/ & HFW
-    Read and comprehend decodable reader 1

-    Daily News:  write sentence while discussing number of words in sentence, capitalization, punctuation. Discuss types of sentences.
-    If time permits, read book about me or family.
