Lesson Plans for the week of September 15-19

Weekly Plans

Spelling: The next spelling test will be September 19th. The spelling words and dictation sentences are not graded the 1^st nine weeks but IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to establish this routine of studying and testing.

Reading: Our story we will read is, Get the Egg! The genre is realistic fiction. Students will also learn about the short /e/ as in egg and initial blends. Our reading skill is to learn about realism & fantasy and story structure.  In language, we will review declarative (telling sentence) and interrogative (asking/questions) sentences.

High Frequency Words: there, use, an, each, which, she, do, how, their, if

 

Math: We will be making numbers different ways and focusing on concepts of addition. We will work with strategies such as counting on and using a number line. For example: 3+2=5, 2+3=5, 4+1=5, 5+0=5, 2+1+2=5, 3+4+1=8.

 

Social Science: We will be finishing up our balance and motion unit. We also we talk about the habitat of a farm.
