Spelling: The next
spelling test will be October 18th. The spelling words and dictation sentences
are not graded the 1st nine weeks but IT IS VERY IMPORTANT to establish this
routine of studying and testing.
Words are: face, made, age, safe, take, make, cage, cake,
late, name, his, this
Reading: Our story is The Farmer in the Hat. Students will
learn about long /a/ as in name and the soft c /s/ like in face and soft g /j/
as in cage. In our story we will learn
about cause and effect. Our grammar skill is to learn about proper nouns.
High-Frequency words: his, this
Math: We will introduce subtraction number sentences like
3-1=2. We will continue to discuss number sense and story problems (combining
situations).
Social Science: We will learn about spiders. If you have any
resources you would like to send please do! Please send in an orange piece of
poster board.
